From 1911 until 2011 and beyond, Welcome Rock has been in our family for over 100 years. We acknowledge our past, present and future generations for their enduring love of preserving our people and landscapes.
In 2011 we received a Century Farm award. The New Zealand Century Farm and Station Awards programme aims to capture and preserve this important rural history, which might otherwise be lost through the generations.

Let them choose from a stay in the Mud Hut or Slate Hut, with outdoor baths, amazing views and access to the Roaring Lion hiking and biking trail.

COVID POLICY: We are happy to move your booking or refund you if your booking is affected by Covid restrictions.
WINTER: Riding is not permitted during winter. Walking to the Mud/Slate Huts can be arranged directly with us during winter.
THE TRAIL: The Trail is open for hikers & bikers from 1 October until 30 April.
RED SHED: Open & Available all year round, located near the homestead!
MUD HUT & SLATE HUT: Access these huts along the trail. Slate Hut is 2kms from trail head, Mud Hut is 10kms from trail head.
