Like it’s namesake Welcome Rock deserves a bit of recognition and an explanation as to how it all began. While we already had some interpretation on the rock, the harsh elements took their toll and wore away the memoirs of the earliest pioneers.
We’ve decided to reinstate those precious thoughts and traditions by making these new signs describing our forefathers story........ and of course bring back the whiskey to warm the cockles of your heart.
Be part of this journey and help us continue the legacy of our past.
Interpretation of the photo: Welcome Rock Whiskey - Legend has it that a whiskey bottle was always hidden at Welcome Rock to aid those who were in need to keep warm in this cold and exposed spot. We welcome those who visit the Rock who are in need of and who have hairs on their chest (or want hairs) to find, sip and return this brew.

Jen learnt about Welcome Rock Trails awhile back and we knew it was a place we wanted to visit.
